1. To promote interest in the art and practices of gardening, education, beautification, preservation and conservation of the Topsham area;
2. To operate on a non-profit basis exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 [c] [3] of the Internal Revenue Service Code;
3. To adhere to the objectives of the Garden Club Federation of Maine, Inc. and the National Garden Clubs, Inc.

The club maintains ornamental gardens at the Topsham Public Library, Topsham Town Hall, and the "Welcome to Topsham" sign at the corner of Maine and Elm Streets. Members volunteer for Spring and Fall cleanups, and for one-week stints of weeding and deadheading.
The TGC meets monthly throughout the year on the 2nd Wednesday. In the Fall and Winter, the club invites guest speakers to the Topsham Public Library for programs open to the public. In the Spring and Summer, the club arranges field trips to area gardens for members and their invited guests.
The club raises funds to maintain the gardens, engage speakers, and support several organizations through membership dues, an annual plant sale in June, and an auction at our members-only holiday party in December. The TGC currently funds scholarships at the CREA day camp in Topsham and the 4-H day camp at Bryant Pond, the Friends of Merrymeeting Bay, and the Friends of the Topsham Public Library.
It is affiliated with the Garden Club Federation of Maine, Inc. (GCFM) and the Medomak District within GCFM, New England Garden Clubs, Inc., and National Garden Club, Inc. Membership in the Topsham Garden Club automatically confers membership in the state, regional and national clubs to TGC members.
